Walk to work on Wednesday morning…looks like it’s gonna be a while before I get to compost my garden!
More Snow….
So D.C. got another snowstorm this weekend – and of course, it means I can’t bike to work for another week (let alone walk), because the city prioritizes cleaning ONLY roads. I tried to walk to work this morning and the sidewalks were packed snow and ice, especially at intersections. I saw lots of little old ladies trying to walk and almost slipping. There wasn’t even any salt or sand out, let alone cleared sidewalks. This is three days AFTER the storm. Don’t even get started on biking – the bike lanes are just lanes of ice and slush by now. Way to go DOT!
a fresh bag of farmer’s market goodies from timor market! collard greens (again) and fresh cilantro. i might be turning green from eating collard greens – yes I know they’re good for you and all, but brassicas are seriously too much after a while. so green, so fibrous,, so sulfurous. I made an indian curry with collards and potatos last night, but i think it actually tasted pretty good considering the health quotient – delicious goodness: not very healthy, hard to force down: extremely healthy.
Yeah – you try getting out of the “sidewalk” to the road….
