Daffodil greens, April 20th. The whole front yard is full of them, now the daffodils have died, the greens are everywhere so I coiled them under rocks.

Backdated to mid-April – lettuce and chives out back. Lettuce not doing super well now – I think this pot gets too dry hanging out on the deck. Plus the alley katz like to poo in it.

Fresh “easter egg” radishes from the garden! They weren’t super productive – aka, I got more than ½ of those long stringy non-radishy bulbs, but the ones that did grow were very nice and tasted great/spicy!

Fresh bowl of “spicy italian” mixed greens. God damn these are spicy! I can’t identify everything in there, but it definitely includes mustard greens, broccolini, purple kale, arugula, onions, and dill.

Spicy italian microgreens – grew a lot more than “micro” while I was gone on my trip. oops! going to eat them tonight on a crusty pizza shell with some tomato sauce.

Very old rosemary (bush? tree?) in the San Francisco Botanical Garden. They had several of these in the “fragrance garden”. Lovely!!

Garden Update . . .

Well it’s been “real Spring” temps here the past two weeks – that is, 40s at night, high 60 day, some rain, some clouds. So, perhaps I was a little hasty putting out my basil babies into the front herb pots? I hope they don’t die. Out back, I have put the pole beans in the ground and officially harvested the first round of “spicy italian” microgreens mix. Also in the works are cucumber, squash, and tomatoes seedlings. They are growing in the window of the living room – the only light in the house.
